Ohio Plans to Launch Sports Betting on Jan. 1

The Ohio Casino Control Commision is making plans to launch both retail and digital betting options on Jan. 1 in the New Year. The OCCC has approved 21 retail sportsbooks in conjunction with land-based casinos and 22 online sportsbooks with mobile sports betting apps.

The retail sportsbooks includes Hard Rock Cincinnati, Hollywood Casino Columbus, Hollywood Casino Toledo and JACK Cleveland as one of the main betting centers. The top online sportsbooks are made up of Barstool Sportsbook, BetMGM, BetRivers, Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings, FanDuel, PointsBet and WynnBET.

There is a state law that professional stadiums and arenas are licensed to offer sports betting. However, they are not part for the initial wave.

Doc's Sports Service covers all the Ohio sports betting action in Legal Sportsbooks are Going Live on New Years' Day in Ohio.
