Going Chalk With Kyle Busch as Martinsville Favorite

Things are heating up in the NASCAR Cup Series' race to the season title with eight drivers gunning for the championship with four events left on the slate. In the first of three races leading up to the season-ending championship race at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Nov. 17, Kyle Busch has been set as a +275 favorite at America's Bookie online sportsbook for this Sunday's race at Martinsville Speedway.

Busch has been one of the most dominant Cup Series drivers this season with four point-race wins and a first-place standing in the current Cup Series point totals. As good as the No. 18 Toyota has been, the team is still looking for its first postseason victory of the year heading into the seventh event in this year's 10-race playoff. Martinsville ranks as one of his better tracks in recent years to add even more value to Busch's betting odds to win.

I cover NASCAR's Cup Series on a weekly basis for the popular sports betting website SBR Picks. The link below is to this week's race preview and my top-valued bets for Sunday's First Data 500.

2019 Breeders' Cup Early Betting Preview

Even casual horse racing fans know that the biggest event of the season is the annual Breeders' Cup. While the Kentucky Derby may be the biggest race on the calendar, the two-day Breeders' Cup offers 14 major graded events highlighted by the $6 million BC Classic.

This year's event takes place at Santa Anita Park in Southern California on Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 2. The first day of racing is reserved for the best up-and-coming two-year old's in four separate million-dollar events. This card is highlighted by the $2 million BC Juvenile for the best contenders on the early 2020 Kentucky Derby Trail.

Saturday's slate at Santa Anita offers something for everyone with nine more high-dollar stakes races on the card. It all culminates with the BC Classic as the 'best of the best' Thoroughbred horses in the world compete for this coveted title.

If horse racing fans love the Breeders' Cup, horse bettors live for this event. Whether you are betting the races at an off-track venue or online through your favorite racebook, the action is non-stop over the two-day stretch. I cover horse racing for the popular sports betting site, SBR Picks and below is a link to my early betting preview for the upcoming Breeders' Cup.

NFL Dogs Ready to Bite the Books: Eagles at Cowboys

Even though both division leaders are tied at 3-3 and coming off a bad loss, Sunday night's NFC East clash between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys is one of the most heavily bet games in Week 7 of the NFL season. The early betting consensus for this game favors Philadelphia at 58% to drive the spread down to 2.5 points for the Eagles as road underdogs. The total line for Sunday night's slated 8:20 p.m. start on NBC is set at 49 points with the betting public leaning towards the UNDER at 61%.

The Cowboys swept last year's two-game series to improve to 6-3 straight-up in the last nine matchups. However, Philly has a 6-3 SU edge in its last nine road games against its bitter rival. The total has gone OVER in four of each of these teams first six games this year.

Injuries could be the big storyline for Sunday night with two of each team's biggest playmakers listed as questionable. Wide receiver DeSean Jackson has missed his last few starts with lingering groin injury and the Cowboys' top pass catcher Amari Cooper is hampered by a bad quad. The Eagles' secondary is also thin due to injury and Dallas has a few more key players listed as questionable for this huge division showdown.

While these teams do matchup very well with one another and there is very little love lost between the two, my lean is towards the dog biting the book in this one. As part of a regular weekly series for the popular sports betting site, Scores & Stats, the link below if to my complete betting preview for this game.

Eagles at Vikings NFL Week 6 Betting Pick

This is the time of the NFL season when the true contenders start to separate themselves from the rest of the pack. While the New England Patriots are once again the cream of the crop in the AFC with Kansas City also near the top of the list, the NFC has turned into a wide-open affair with as many as five or six teams aiming for the top spot in this conference.

Two of those NFC teams in the thick of things meet this Sunday at 1 p.m. on FOX with the 3-2 Philadelphia Eagles on the road as three-point underdogs against the 3-2 Minnesota Vikings. The total for this matchup has been set at 44 points.

The Eagles struggled to a 1-2 straight-up start while failing to cover against the spread in all three games. Following a crucial road upset against Green Bay, they were able to rise above .500 with last Sunday's lopsided romp over the New York Jets. Minnesota is also off to a 3-2 start both SU and ATS. The three wins came against Atlanta and Oakland at home ahead of last Sunday's 28-10 victory against the New York Jets. Both losses were on the road to Green Bay and Chicago.

The winner of Sunday's clash will elevate their status as a legitimate contender to win the NFC while the loser will make their path to the playoffs all the more harder.

This game will feature a head-to-head matchup between the Eagles' Carson Wentz and the Vikings' Kirk Cousins at quarterback. Wentz is slowly returning to the form that had him in contention to win league MVP honors in the 2017 season. Cousins is well down the list through five starts with a quarterback rating of just 36.3. He also has a very questionable track record against the Eagles when he was the starter for Washington. The current playing form of each signal caller gives Philadelphia a huge edge in this game.

You would have to give the slight edge to Minnesota on defense as the fifth-ranked team in the NFL in total yards allowed. While the Eagles are farther down the list in that category, this unit is coming off its best game of the season. Granted, it was against the Jets but that momentum should carry over to Sunday's game.

This is the kind of separation game that could have a big impact on each team's postseason plans further down the road. Each team has two conference losses and Minnesota has already lost two games against NFC North opponents.

My top play in this one is Philadelphia on the moneyline at +150 with America's Bookie online sportsbook.
