NFL Dogs Ready to Bite the Books: Eagles at Cowboys

Even though both division leaders are tied at 3-3 and coming off a bad loss, Sunday night's NFC East clash between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys is one of the most heavily bet games in Week 7 of the NFL season. The early betting consensus for this game favors Philadelphia at 58% to drive the spread down to 2.5 points for the Eagles as road underdogs. The total line for Sunday night's slated 8:20 p.m. start on NBC is set at 49 points with the betting public leaning towards the UNDER at 61%.

The Cowboys swept last year's two-game series to improve to 6-3 straight-up in the last nine matchups. However, Philly has a 6-3 SU edge in its last nine road games against its bitter rival. The total has gone OVER in four of each of these teams first six games this year.

Injuries could be the big storyline for Sunday night with two of each team's biggest playmakers listed as questionable. Wide receiver DeSean Jackson has missed his last few starts with lingering groin injury and the Cowboys' top pass catcher Amari Cooper is hampered by a bad quad. The Eagles' secondary is also thin due to injury and Dallas has a few more key players listed as questionable for this huge division showdown.

While these teams do matchup very well with one another and there is very little love lost between the two, my lean is towards the dog biting the book in this one.
