Betting NASCAR's Cup Series Championship

The long extended NASCAR Cup Series schedule that began with the Daytona 500 ends this Sunday with the running of the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The final race of the year will determine this year's overall racing champion. The top four drivers in the Cup Series standings will square off against one another for one last run around the track.

Over the past five years, the racing champion also won this race. In those five races, a different driver has walked away with the racing title. Kevin Harvick claimed his only career Cup Series title with the victory in the 2014 race at Homestead-Miami. Kyle Busch won the championship the following season with Jimmie Johnson adding a seventh racing title to his Hall of Fame racing career in 2016. Martin Truex Jr. won the championship race in 2017 and Joey Logano bested the four-driver field last year.

Harvick, Busch and Truex have worked their way into this year's championship field along with Denny Hamlin, who is in position to win his first career Cup Series title. Hamlin started this season with a victory in the Daytona 500 as the first of six Cup Series wins this year. How fitting would it be if the No. 11 Toyota can end the season with a championship trip down Victory Lane.
