The Kentucky Derby is the biggest race of the year for the top three-year old thoroughbreds in the nation. This year's 20-horse field for Saturday's 144th Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs could be the closest "Run for the Roses" in recent memory. In the absence of a dominant three-year old at the top of the list, most horse racing handicapping experts would agree that there are as many as five or six horses with a legitimate shot to win.
I have been covering this season's Kentucky Derby Trail for ScoresandStats.com since last summer when these colts were competing as juveniles. Good Magic was the frontrunner heading into 2018 after winning the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, but Justify moved to the top of the list as a 3/1 favorite to win this race for what he was able to accomplish as a three-year old. In between, you have solid contenders in Mendelssohn at 5/1 odds and Magnum Moon at 6/1. Throw in Bolt d'Oro and Audible at 8/1 odds on the morning line and this year's Kentucky Derby is as wide open as it can get.
Betting on the Kentucky Derby offers any number of options at BetAnySports, as one of the top online racebooks for US players. Whether you choose to keep things simple with a few Win, Place and Show bets or take advantage of the horse racing betting value in the odds posted for head-to-head matchups between the top contenders in this year's field, there are some great betting options to get in on all the action that Derby Day at Churchill Downs brings to the table.
