When bettors think of March Madness, the current NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament takes center stage. However, March is also known in horse racing circles as one of the best months for betting ponies on the Kentucky Derby Trail. The main event on this Saturday's race card at Oaklawn Park in Arkansas is the $900,000 Rebel Stakes.
This 1 1/16 miles trip around the dirt track at Oaklawn has some heavy hitters in the field that could easily factor into the final results for this year's Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs on May 5.
