The 142nd running of the Preakness Stakes takes place this Saturday afternoon at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore and as expected Always Dreaming comes in as the favorite to win on the heels of his stirring 2 3/4 lengths victory two weeks ago in the Kentucky Derby. The three-year old Kentucky-bred champion has been opened as a 4/5 favorite breaking out of the fourth post and his biggest competition in this race should come from Classic Empire as a 3/1 second-favorite coming out of the No. 5 gate.
This should set the stage for a great head-to-head matchup with the top two horses in the field battling it out right from the start.
