The NFL saved the best for last this Wild Card Weekend with Sunday's NFC clash between the 11-5 New York Giants and the 10-6 Green Bay Packers in a 4:40 p.m. (ET) start at frigid Lambeau Field. Both of these teams come into this matchup in pretty impressive form with New York winning nine of its last 11 games straight-up (8-3 against the spread) and the Packers boasting a SU six-game winning streak while going 5-1 ATS.
Both teams also feature a veteran quarterback that has already proven that they know how to get their team to a Super Bowl and win. This season, the Giants' Eli Manning has completed 63 percent of his 598 passing attempts for 4,027 yards and 26 touchdowns against 16 interceptions. Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers ended the regular season ranked fourth in the NFL in total passing yards (4,428) and his 40 touchdown strikes were the most in the league this year. New York has the definite edge on defense with a unit that was ranked second in the league in points allowed (17.8). Green Bay's defense was 22nd in yards allowed (363.9) and its 24.2 points-allowed average was ranked 21st on the list.
The Oddsmakers at BetAnySports online sportsbook now have the Packers listed as 5.5-point home favorites in this NFC wild card tilt and the betting line for the total is still set at 44.5. The early betting money has the public all over Green Bay, but the Giants have been able to cover in four of the last six meetings between the two with one game ending as a PUSH. I am leaning towards a play on the total line in this game and to get my complete preview and free pick at SportsBettingStats.com please check out the link below.
