2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Futures Update

NASCAR's Sprint Cup series takes a break this week following a recent three-race West Coast swing and before the action fires back up at Martinsville next Sunday I decided to take a closer look at the updated futures odds to win this year's championship. We are only five events into a 36-race schedule, but three past champions have already laid claim to a checkered flag this year. Leading the way is six-time Sprint Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson with trips to the Winner's Circle at Atlanta and last Sunday at Fontana. Kevin Havick won the title in 2014 and he is off to a strong start this season with a win at Phoenix. Brad Keselowski is always a threat to win behind the wheel of the No. 2 car and the 2012 Sprint Cup Champ posted an early victory at Las Vegas to throw his name into the mix for another title run.

For the past several years I have been covering NASCAR for SBR Forum and this week I put together my top favorite, top contender and top longshot to win this year's Sprint Cup title based on the value in their recently updated futures odds. The link to my picks is listed below.
