Regional gaming company Penn Entertainment is going for national exposure in its sports betting division by teaming up with ESPN Bet. Formally Barstool Sportsbook, Penn Entertainment is rebranding ESPN Bet this fall in its retail and online sports betting sites.
Barstool Sportsbook has 16 states with legal sports betting in the US market. Earlier this August, Penn Entertainment agreed to disband the Barstool brand and launch ESPN Bet. Disney-run ESPN gets $1.5 billion for the exclusive rights to ESPN Bet. The 10-year agreement between Penn Entertainment and ESPN is renewable for the next 10 years.
