The Arkansas Derby Headlines Saturday's Horse Racing Card

The 2017 Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs on Saturday, May 6 kicks off another exciting season of Triple Crown racing for the top three-year old thoroughbreds in the country. One of the final pieces in the puzzle when it comes to setting the 20-horse field for this year's "Run for the Roses" takes place this Saturday afternoon at Oaklawn Park with the running of the $1 million Arkansas Derby. This is the final major prep race on the schedule in advance of next month's main event at Churchill and it should be a good one with a 12-horse field that is extremely deep in talent.

As part of my weekly horse racing betting report for SBR Picks, I have broken down the field for this year's Arkansas Derby to come up with my top trifecta pick. Please check out the link below for my free picks.

Free NASCAR Picks- Auto Club 400

NASCAR's Monster Energy Cup Series wraps up its early season West Coast swing with a stop in Fontana, California for the running of the Auto Club 400. All the action from Auto Club Speedway is set to get underway this Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. (ET) and the race will be broadcast nationally on FOX.

Defending Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson has struggled his way to just one Top 10 finish through the first four point-race events on the 2017 schedule, but he is in excellent position to quickly turn things around with a win this week. He also comes in as the defending champion of this race as part of his six career victories at this track in a Cup Series event. His current odds to win at BetAnySports are set at +650 and with an average finishing position of 6.5 at Fontana there is quite a bit of value in that number.

For my complete preview of Sunday's race along with my top-valued pick to win, please check out the link below at SportsBettingStats.com

NHL Saturday Best Bet- Montreal at Ottawa

The top two teams in the NHL's Atlantic Division kickoff a home-and-home series for first place in the standings this Saturday night in what should one of the best matchups on the day's slate. Montreal is clinging to a one-point lead heading into Saturday's game as a slight -110 road favorite with BetAnySports, but it has lost the first two games of the season series against the Senators by identical 4-3 scores. Ottawa is listed as a +100 even-money home underdog and the total for this game is set at 5.

NHL Saturday Best Bet- Florida at Tampa Bay

Saturday night's NHL slate is highlighted by an in-state battle between the Florida Panthers and the Tampa Bay Lightning. Both teams are on the outside looking in as far as the Eastern Conference Playoffs, but they each remain within striking distance of one final wild card spot that is up for grabs.

The Panthers have the early 2-1 edge in the season series against their Atlantic Division rivals including a 2-1 victory as -119 home favorites the last time these two met on Jan. 26. However, look for Tampa Bay to be favored in this one on BetAnySports NHL betting board after putting together a 6-2-2 run in its last 10 games as opposed to Florida's shaky 3-6-1 mark in the same span that includes losses in its last four outings. The home team in this matchup has won six of the last seven meetings.

MLB Starting Pitcher's Win Total Props

Boston's Chris Sale and the Los Angeles Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw have been listed as the top favorites to win this season's Cy Young award in their respective league based on the 2017 MLB futures odds at BetAnySports. It stands to reason that each of these aces will have to win a fair amount of games this season to live up to those lofty expectations.

In one of this week's betting articles for ScoresandStats.com, I took a closer look at each of these starter's prop bet odds for the "over/under" on their projected wins and there is some definite value in the play one way against the other. Betting on NFL Quarterback Props

The big topic of discussion in the NFL right now has to do with the fate of a number of different quarterbacks in the league as far as which team will they be playing for on opening day of the 2017 regular season. There are a few seasoned veterans in the mix such as the Dallas Cowboys' Tony Romo and Chicago's Jay Cutler. Also in play is Tom Brady's backup in New England, Jimmy Garoppolo.

BetAnySports has recently released some prop bet odds pinpointing which NFL teams have the best chance of acquiring each of these signal caller's services. All three just so happen to still be under contract with their current team, but the speculation is running high that their value as trade bait makes it highly likely that they will be wearing a different team's helmet in the not-to distant future.

In one of this week's betting pieces for ScoresandStats.com I weighed in on the situation with my thoughts on where I have each of these players going next season in terms of the best value on the current betting board. Please check the link below for my "best bet" picks for these NFL player props.

NBA All-Star Weekend Top Prop Picks

In an article I wrote for ScoresandStats.com this past week, I covered the prop bet odds for this Saturday night's NBA Slam Dunk Contest as well as the Three-Point Contest. Along with Sunday night's All-Star Game, these two competitions are easily the most popular betting events of the whole weekend's festivities.

While the Slam Dunk Contest is limited to just four players it should be one of the best in years with two-time runner-up Aaron Gordon coming in as the clear favorite against rookie Derrick Jones Jr and Los Angeles Clippers' big man DeAndre Jordan. The field for the Three-Point Contest is loaded with eight of the best long-range bombers in the league. Golden State's Klay Thompson is the favorite to win this competition according to the betting odds at BetAnySports, but look for the likes of Cleveland's Kyrie Irving and Toronto's Kyle Lowry to keep things interesting until the final three-point shot of the night.

For the inside scoop as well as my free pick for both of these NBA All-Star props, please check out the link below at ScoresandStats.com.
