BetAnySports has recently updated its betting odds to win the 2016 Heisman Trophy award as the top player in college football. In a six-part series for Doc's Sports starting with this week's overview, I will take a closer look at the five players currently at the top of that list. LSU running back Leonard Fourette has the best odds on the board to win, but do not count out two other outstanding backs in Stanford's Christian McCaffrey and Florida State's Dalvin Cook. When it comes to singling out the best college football quarterbacks in the nation this season both Deshaun Watson from Clemson and Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield score high grades.
Check out the link below for my complete overview of these five Heisman hopefuls and be sure to stayed tuned in the coming days for each of my individual betting profiles for each player.

2016 Betting Odds to Win the AFC East
Training camps all over the country open next week in preparation for a new NFL season and I have been tasked by the good folks at SportsBettingStats.com to preview the betting odds at BetAnySports to win each of the eight divisions. Most of these races have a clear favorite to win, but a few division titles might not be decided until the final week of the regular season.
To get things started I previewed all four teams in the AFC East to come up with my official pick to win the 2016 division title. This race has been New England against the field for the past decade and a half and, even with Tom Brady's four-game NFL suspension, this figures to be the case this season as well. With Brady out of the starting lineup for the first four games of the year things could get a bit more interesting, but in the end it would be hard to see the Patriots' current streak of seven-straight AFC East titles come to an end. Check out the link below for the full AFC East preview and stayed tuned to SportsBettingStats.com for my official picks for the other seven NFL division races.

Brad Keselowski Goes for His Third-Straight Sprint Cup Win
The highly competitive nature of NASCAR's Sprint Cup series can make it really hard to pick an outright winner in any given week, but anyone betting on Brad Keselowski the past two races have cashed in big at the betting window. With last week's victory at Kentucky, the driver of the No. 2 Ford will be going for his third-straight win this Sunday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway after making his way to the Winner's Circle two weeks ago at Daytona. He also became the first Sprint Cup driver this season to lay claim to four checkered flags in a point race event.
While another win on Sunday would be an unbelievable run, there is a recent precedent for winning three Sprint Cup point races in a row. Last season, Kyle Busch started his impressive three-race winning streak with a victory at Kentucky following by win in this race and first place run at the Brickyard in Indianapolis. I actually like Keselowski's chances to match this feat on Sunday simply because I believe you should always keep betting on a hot hand until it finally cools.
One side note for this week's NASCAR preview on SBR Picks (link copied below) is the recent announcement that Dale Earnhardt Jr. will miss Sunday's race due to concussion-like symptoms following recent wrecks at Michigan and Daytona. I actually liked his chances to win this week as my top-valued longshot at +2000 betting odds with BetAnySports. As a default longshot, I would take a closer look at rookie driver Chase Elliott at those same betting odds (+2000) as he continues his pursuit of his first career Sprint Cup win.

CFL Game of the Week: Hamilton at Montreal
It is Week 4 of a new season of football in the CFL and through the first three weeks of games the underdog has dominated the betting board at BetAnySports with a 10-1 record against the spread. The other game during this same time frame closed as a PICK. This week's games got an early start on Wednesday night with Ottawa going on the road to beat Toronto 30-20. The RedBlacks went against the early trends to easliy cover as slight 1.5-point favorites so we will have to see how the other three games on the schedule pan out for the underdogs.
I have set my sights on Friday night's East Division clash between the 1-2 Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the 1-1 Montreal Alouettes for my CFL Game of the Week. Both teams are in need of a win to try and keep pace with Ottawa, which is now on top of the East at 3-0-1. BetAnySports has listed Hamilton as a one-point road favorite for this game and the betting line for the total has been set at 49.5. For my top play in this matchup along with all of my free CFL picks for this week's games follow the link below to the CFL section on SportsBettingStats.com

Kevin Durant vs. Stephen Curry: Who Scores More Points?
Kevin Durant's recent decision to leave Oklahoma City tho join forces with Stephen Curry in Golden State has completely changed the complexion of the NBA on the court and at the betting window. The Warriors were already one of the top favorites to win the 2017 NBA Championship after coming up short against Cleveland last month in this season's NBA Finals. The addition of Durant to the roster has suddenly made Golden State a prohibitive favorite to win its second title in three years.
Top sportsbooks such as BetAnySports have also released any number of prop bets surrounding this move and in my weekly prop bet picks for Doc's Sports I take a closer look at the projected win total next season for both Golden State as well as Durant's former team OKC. I also breakdown the prop bet odds for a head-to-head matchup between Durant and Curry as far as scoring points next season. Check out the link below for my top picks in all three of these special NBA props.

CFL Game of the Week- Calgary at Ottawa
The Calgary Stampeders started the new CFL season as +550 second-favorites to win this year's Grey Cup title with BetAnySports but they stumbled out of the gate in a stunning 20-18 loss to British Columbia as 2.5-point road favorites. They quickly returned to form last week with a convincing 36-22 win against Winnipeg as 11-point favorites at home.
Calgary will now go back on the road this Friday night to face the Ottawa RedBlacks as a slight one-point underdog with the betting odds for the total set at 52.5. The RedBlacks are a perfect 2-0 out of the gate both straight-up and against the spread after putting up a total of 73 points in an overtime upset at Edmonton followed by a convincing victory against Toronto in Week 2 on the road in a game that ended as a pick.
Friday night's inter-division showdown in Ottawa's home opener is clearly the top matchup on the CFL Week 3 slate and the top play in my weekly picks for SportsBettingStats.com. Check out the link below for all of this week's picks in the CFL Section of the website.
