The Wild, Wild West Leads the Charge to the 2016 CFL Grey Cup

In the NFL, teams like the Patriots and the Packers head the list of favorites to win Super Bowl LI next February. When it comes to football 'North of the Border' things get a bit wilder with teams like the Eskimos, Stampeders and Roughriders leading the charge to claim the next Grey Cup title.

A new season in the CFL gets underway this week and with the start of the 2016 NFL and college football season still more than two months away this is the only game in town for anyone dying to bet on some actual games. As part of this week's top betting tips for Doc's Sports, I took on the task of handicapping BetAnySport's CFL futures odds to win the 2016 Grey Cup Championship.

The Edmonton Eskimos come in as defending champs and favorites to win again. Considering that they play in the West Division along with the likes of Calgary and Saskatchewan, there is a good chance that a team from the West wins it all again after laying claim to the Grey Cup in four of the last five seasons.

2016 NBA Draft Top Prop Picks

If you are still trying to recoup the funds you lost betting on Golden State in the recent NBA Finals, then you might want to try and change your luck betting on a few NBA props that BetAnySports has recently released in advance of Thursday's annual college draft. Only 60 players are chosen in the draft over two rounds of selections making this one of the more interesting prop bet events to wager on.

I decided to take a stab at picking a few winners in this week's top prop bet picks article for Doc's Sports. As a tortured Philadelphia 76ers' fan the only drama will be how long its takes the league's worst team to announce that former LSU guard Ben Simmons will be the first overall pick of the night. It is also a pretty solid bet that the Los Angeles Lakers will go with former Duke standout Brandon Ingram with the second overall pick. After that, things should get interesting with a number of possible scenarios for the remainder of the first round. Check out the link below to see what I think is going to the ultimate fate of three top NBA prospects on Thursday night.

NASCAR 2016 Sprint Cup Futures Update

NASCAR's Sprint Cup series has the week off making it a great time to take a closer look at BetAnySports' updated futures odds to win this season's title. Defending champion Kyle Busch is off to a fast start with three checkered flags through the first 15 point-race events and 2014 champ Kevin Harvick is leading the way in the standings with the most points. I still think this could be Jimmie Johnson's year to add to his title collection as a six-time winner of the Sprint Cup series. He has already won twice this year to pretty much lock-up a spot in the 2016 Chase and more than motivated to prove that he is NASCAR's greatest driver ever.

NASCAR radically changed the rules of the 10-race Chase to the Sprint Cup title two years ago by going to a round-by-round scenario where the original list of 16 drivers is slowly whittled-down to a final four that competes in a winner-take-all event at Homestead-Miami in the final race of the season. Under the new rules Johnson has finished 11th and 10th in the final standings so it all comes down to racing your best at the right time of the year. BetAnySports still has the No. 48 Chevy listed as the favorite to win this season's title but Busch and Harvick are also high on the list. In a recent update for SBRPicks.com I broke down the updated Sprint Cup futures odds to come up with my top favorite, contender and longshot to win this year's title so please check out the link below to see if you agree with my picks.

2016 NBA Finals Game 6 Free Pick

I had the Golden State Warriors closing things out in this season's NBA Finals in Monday's Game 5, but Draymond Green's one-game suspension along with a rare poor performance by league MVP Stephen Curry on his home court resulted in a stunning 112-97 loss to Cleveland as 5.5-point favorites on BetAnySports' closing NBA betting line.

Heading into Thursday night's Game 6, the Warriors are now listed as 2.5-point road underdogs to win a second-straight NBA title by ousting the Cavaliers in six games. Green will be back in the lineup and even more rare is Curry having two bad games in a row so I would have to lean towards Golden State as far as picking a side. The "best bet" in this game could be on the total line which is set at 207.5. It has stayed UNDER or ended as a PUSH in four of the first five games of this series and Game 6 has a very good chance of following suit with both teams ramping-up on defense in an effort to get the win.

I have been covering the NBA for BetAnySports all season long with game picks for a number of different affiliate sites. Below is a link to my Game 6 preview on OSGA.com along with my official pick for tonight's game.

2016 US Open Top Prop Bet Picks

This year's US Open at Oakmont Country Club near Pittsburgh gets underway this Thursday with first round action. The last time this Major was held at this course was in 2007 and the winning score that year was five over par. BetAnySports has set the "over/under" this time around at +2.5 over par so you know it is going to be a tough test of golf for the world's top players.

As part of my weekly prop picks piece for Doc's Sports, I dug deeper into all the prop bet odds that were released in conjunction for this week's tournament to come up with a few picks that have the best chance to pay off. One pick is such a no-brainer that I am already chalking it up as an easy win. Check-out the Link below for all of my top prop bet picks for this year's US Open and then sit back and enjoy the show over the next four days as the best of the best in professional golf struggle just to end each round at even par.

Going with the Favorites in the US Open

Professional golf's second Major of the season gets underway this Thursday with the opening round of the US Open at Oakmont. The top three favorites to win according to BetAnySports just so happen to be the top three golfers in the current world rankings. I do not think that is a coincidence given that this tournament is usually the toughest test the top golfers in the world face all year long. Things could be especially difficult this week given that the last time the US Open was played at Oakmont in 2007, the best total score in the field after all four rounds was five strokes over par carded by Angel Cabrera.

As part of this week's top betting tips for Doc's Sports I take a closer look at the actual betting odds to win the 2016 US Open for the top few players in the world. I also cover a top WWE star's return to MMA fighting as well as the betting odds for my best bet to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year this season. Check out the link below for all of my top tips.

2016 Belmont Stakes Free Trifecta Pick

I started the 2016 Triple Crown racing season on a good note with a play on Nyquist as the favorite to win the Kentucky Derby. I went chalk with this horse again in the Preakness Stakes, but Exaggerator finally broke through with the win as the second choice after finishing second at Churchill Downs with the second-best betting odds in that race as well.

While the rubber match between the two most dominant three-year olds in the nation this year never materialized with Nyquist pulling out of this Saturday's Belmont Stakes, all eyes will still be on Exaggerator to see if he can lay claim to the third jewel of this season's crown as a 9/5 favorite on the morning line. The Belmont is the longest of the three Triple Crown races at 1 1/2 miles and that extra distance has been the downfall of quite a few favorites over the years. Last season American Pharoah defied the odds by winning this race to lay claim to the first Triple Crown title since 1978, but I have a strong feeling that this year's series is going to end-up with a different horse winning each of the three races.

Check out my recent post on SportsBettingStats.com at the link below to find out which other three-year old in Saturday's 13-horse field is my pick to win this race.
