Going With the OVER in BC at Calgary

Saturday's featured matchup in the CFL is a West Division battle between the British Columbia Lions and the Calgary Stampeders in a 7 p.m. start at McMahon Stadium. I made this game my "best bet" of the week at part of my coverage of the CFL for the popular sports betting site, SBR Picks. Calgary is listed as a heavy 10.5-point home favorite and BetAnySports online sportsbook has set the total at 53.5 points.

I bet the OVER at 52.5 points earlier in the week and the betting public tends to agree given the one-point move in that same direction leading up to game time. The Lions are 0-2 out of the gate behind a defense that has allowed a combined 72 points. Calgary scored 28 points in a Week 1 loss to Ottawa ahead of last week's bye. I am not sure if the Stamps can cover the 10.5 points in a game they should win straight up, but I feel pretty good about each of these teams scoring enough points to cash in on that OVER bet,

Harvick Eyes First Checkered Flag at Chicagoland

Kevin Harvick knows how to win Cup Series races. So much so, that he led the way in the 2018 racing season with eight trips to Victory Lane. Kyle Busch also belongs on that list after matching that total in the same season. The next driver on the list was Martin Truex Jr. with four victories. Joey Logano had the last laugh by winning the only race that mattered to win that season's racing title. All four drivers are in the thick of things in the current Cup Series point standings with one major point of difference.

Flash forward to the first 16 point races of the 2019 campaign and Busch has kept up his end of the deal with four victories under his belt driving the No. 18 Toyota while Harvick is still looking for his first point-race win of the year. To say that the No. 4 Ford is due would be a mass understatement. Truex won last week on the road course at Sonoma to tie Busch with four wins and Logano has crossed the finish line first in two races this year.

BetAnySports online sportsbook has Harvick listed as a +450 second-favorite to get that first win this Sunday in the Camping World 400 at Chicagoland. Kyle Busch is the favorite to win at +330 with Truex third on the list at +550 followed by Logano at +880 odds to win. As part of my weekly coverage of NASCAR's Cup Series for the popular sports betting website SBR Picks, I have broken down the entire field for this Sunday's race to come up with the best value in BatAnySports' betting odds to win. CFL Week 2 Top Betting Pick

Week 2 of the new CFL season features an interesting West Division tilt on Friday night between the British Columbia Lions and the Edmonton Eskimos. The Lions lost their season opener to Winnipeg both straight-up and against the spread as slight one-point home underdogs. Edmonton got past Montreal at home in Week 1 but it failed to cover as an eight-point favorite.

The Eskimos are looking to extend their current five-game SU winning streak against BC at home as four-point favorites and BetAnySports has set the total line at 55.5 points for this 9 p.m. start at Commonwealth Stadium.

I cashed in on my Week 1 ‘best bet’ for SBR Picks with the OVER on the Blue Bombers’ 33-23 victory against the Lions with the closing line set at 51 points. This week, I am going against BC as a road underdog. My complete game preview and free CFL pick can be found at the link below on the popular sports betting site SBR Picks.

Betting 2019 NFL Player Props- Most Passing Yards

One of the most heavily bet NFL regular season player props is on which quarterback will throw for the most yards in the regular season. Heading into the 2019 NFL season, the battle lines have been drawn between a few veteran gunslingers such as Atlanta's Matt Ryan and Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger and the young guns in the league led by Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes.

All three of these quarterbacks are at the top of the list at BetAnySports online sportsbook when it comes to the betting odds to win this prop. As part of my NFL coverage for the popular sports betting site Scores & Stats, the link below is to my breakdown of which quarterbacks offer the best betting value for cashing that winning ticket.

Betting On The NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year

Anytime you are the Heisman Trophy winner going first in the NFL Draft as a team's new franchise quarterback, you are going to be favored to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. In 2017, Oklahoma Sooners' quarterback Baker Mayfield won the Heisman as the most outstanding college football player that season. He went on to become the first overall pick in the draft by the Cleveland Browns. Although New York Giants' running back Saquon Barkley won offensive ROY honors last season, Mayfield was high on the list with voters.

In 2018, Kyler Murray took over the reins at quarterback for the Sooners and he went on to win that year's Heisman. When the draft rolled around in late April, Murray came off the board first as the new signal caller for the Arizona Cardinals. He now has a chance to pull off the trifecta that Mayfield could not by winning offensive ROY honors this upcoming season.

There is definitely some value in his odds as the favorite on the NFL futures board at BetAnySports online sportsbook. However, as part of my ongoing coverage of the NFL for the popular sports betting site Scores & Stats, there is some even better value to be found in a few offensive rookies looking to make an immediate impact for their new NFL team.

Will Martin Truex Jr. Stay Hot at Pocono?

Martin Truex Jr. joined Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski as a trio of NASCAR drivers with three Cup Series point race wins this season by taking the checkered flag last Sunday night at Charlotte in the Coca-Cola 600. He comes into this Sunday afternoon's race at Pocono Raceway as a +650 third-favorite to win again according to the betting odds posted at BetAnySports.

Winning back-to-back races at NASCAR's highest level is a tough thing to do, but current form and past betting trends add quite a bit of value to the No. 19 Toyota's chances for a return trip to Victory Lane at Long Pond this Sunday.

As part of my weekly coverage of NASCAR for the popular sports betting site SBR Picks, the link below is to my complete preview of this Sunday's Pocono 400.
